Settling your child into nursery

Coming to the nursery for the first time is a big step for your child.  We want to make it an enjoyable and happy experience so this is why we have a settling in period.

The settling in period is where you accompany your child to the nursery and introduce him/her to their room, the nursery staff and the other children.  This is done over a period of short visits.

We feel this period is necessary for your child to feel happy and confident with the nursery environment.

Key Person  -  The nursery operates a key person system, who co-ordinates information about your child’s needs and development, they share this with you.  This maintains consistency and continuity of care.  A member of the room staff will be identified as your key person.
